The city awakes to the bells of Notre Dame

On the last day in Paris we went to the Notre Dame, and yet, another dream fulfilled. I've been wanting to come to this cathedral and pray to the Holy Notre Dame of Paris since I was a child. I still remember saying that to my grandmother. It was really personal and beautiful, it was amazing.

The Cathedral is truly beyond words, and magical. The view from the towers is also amazing, since the Cathedral is located in the heart of Paris, in the Île de la Cité, one of the two remaining natural islands in the Seine river.

I felt blessed.

King Louis IX of France, later Saint Louis, carried the relics of the Passion of Jesus wearing only this white linen shirt, barefoot. Louis was a devoted catholic and kept the relics in his possession, building the Saint Chapelle (post is coming next about it) to keep the relics. The relics were later transfered to the Notre Dame, to the place now called the Treasury of Notre Dame.
