Musée de Cluny fed my Medieval Ego

This is another special post for my Facebook page - Medieval and Renaissance Whispers - fans. It's about my visit to the Musée de Cluny, in Paris. The particular museum is also known as the National Museum of the Middle Ages, so everything french medieval was featured in the museum.

One special piece I was really looking forward to see was the well known six-part tapestry "La Dame à La Licorne" (The Lady and the Unicorn), but it wasn't there yet. They are rebuilding the room for it's display, and the tapestry was sent to Japan in the meantime. I was told that the tapestry room was ready in final November, but I guess I went there a few days sooner than expected. It was expected to be on public display on 28th/29th November, I left Paris on the 25th. I was a little disappointed, I'm not going to lie, but it was worth the visit anyway.

There was a little presentation about the six-part tapestry "La Dame à La Licorne", explaining what were the plans for the room and explaining the meaning of each tapestry. It's not the same as the real deal, but still interesting to see.

Being this close to real medieval stained glass was amazing! Such a beautiful artwork.

The only 5 minutes of sunshine I got in Paris! =D
