Dracula, by Bam Stoker

Apart from Lara Jade's "Fashion Photography 101", I also started the well known "Dracula", a 1897 gothic horror novel by the irish author BRam Stoker.

I wanted to read it for a while, since I found out that the "The Tudors" producers were working on a new show inspired by this novel. So the months flew by and it's airing on October 25th!

The series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There's only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. (Written by NBC)

So far, the book seems interesting, even though I know that she show is diferent; I said it was inspired, and it also has the same characters. And besides, it's from the same producing crew of "The Tudors", "Downton Abbey" and even "The Walking Dead". And it has Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the main character and it's in London, so it makes it even better.

Lara Jade's "Fashion Photography 101"

This has been my reading material lately: the amazing guide for new fashion photographers, by my photography idol and inspiration Lara Jade. It has been a great fountain of knowledge and I am so glad I got it. I wish I had it sooner, but better late than never.

It describes every single step on pursuing your own techniques, how to gather a team together and how to concept your shoot and work. I always said that I would never do fashion, since it always looked plain and not personal to me, but lately I've been finsing out that it's not just about fashion; it's about a story, a look, beauty, and I am embracing the theme. And with this, I will never say never to diferent types of photography. I've learned my lesson.

In November

... I'm visiting Paris, for my birthday! This is probably the best present someone could give me. So that makes my boyfriend the best in the world for me. I've been dying to go to Paris for a while and it seems the perfect time to visit the "La Ville-Lumière" ("The City of Light").

I am not wasting any time on searching the best sites (specially historical, because I became a history nerd over the past year and a half) to visit. I'm already taking photos in my head just by thinking of it! And singing "The Beauty and the Beast" or "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" songs while I walk on the streets! I'm just so excited, I'm sorry. 

Another announcement:
In the next days, I will try to become more active on the blog, approaching diferent aspects that I come across on my daily life. Things I buy, reviews, fashion, lifestyle, photography, literature... A little bit of anything and everything.

I really want to stick up with this. Unless it gets boring. Then I will stop lol

"Oh Darling... Remember the Goodtimes", by Despe&Veste Clothing

Everyone knows how loyal and addicted to these girls and to this clothing store I am, so here's the new summer collection from Despe&Veste!!!

This time was a little diferent. Marta Dores, the brand owner, wanted to put out some ideias for something comming up really soon. I am also helping, obviously, and it's all comming together amazingly, and I can't wait to show you guys what it is! Did I sound a little douchey now, by teasing and leave it? haha Sorry, but you really have to wait!

The location for this photoshoot was at a gorgeous spot: a house with a big property, including a swimming pool, in the countryside and it was breathtaking. I love when the place gives me a variety of backgrounds, set ups and diferent props, so the creativity flows a lot more, resulting in beautiful pictures. The whole team was in a good spirit, the weather was fantastic, we had snacks so we were happy, haha.

A Dream

This is a self-portrait, combining fine-art with *I have no idea what the hell I'm doing*. There isn't much I could say about this one, besides the fact that it wasn't supposed at all to look like this, but at least it turned out as something I wanted to do a while ago. Sparkles, dreams, lights.

Devotion

This might be one of my favourite self-portraits/fine-art works I've done in a long time. And I understood at last that my favourite characteristics are powder, steam and smoke, and I will continue to add these features in the future.

Here is the "Before/After" combination. I think it is important for people to share the "Before" pictures, so the viewer gets the idea of hard work and passion for this type of art. I feel no embarassement, whatsoever, to let you guys look at it. In this case, the "Before" picture already had a little steam texture and adition of hair flowing.
